We have just returned from vacationing in Aspen Colorado for three weeks, and our time there just flew by! We arrived on London’s first birthday (the day after her party), and immediately fell into vacation mode…
We love going to Aspen for the cool climate, outdoor lifestyle, and fine cuisine. Aspen is just one of those towns that has something for everyone, and is so family friendly as well.. We loved taking London on her first ride up the gondola to the top of Aspen Mountain.. she is definitely a mountain girl! We brought our two German Shepherds along with us, and they loved venturing to the parks with London as well.

If you’re a fan of farmers markets, make sure to check out the Aspen Saturday Market. I love strolling through the various local vendors, and found some unique, handmade pieces of jewelry from Taylor and Tessier. I also found some sweet, cotton outfits with hand painted designs by Low Flying Angels for London. I went back the next weekend and bought more in larger sizes because she seemed so comfortable in her new shirts and leggings. Another favorite of mine Meadow Mountain Naturals, sells the loveliest organic lavender soaps, lotions, and other pure products such as Arnica salve and detoxification bath salts. I stock up every summer! The Aspen Saturday Market is always a highlight of mine.
If high end shopping is more your thing, there are lots of boutiques such as Dior, Gucci, Prada, Brunello Cucinelli, Monclear, Louis Vuitton, Loro Piani, Ralph Lauren, and Valentino. I found the perfect flat sandals from Valentino that are nude with gold and turquoise studs. They have three straps that go up the ankle which give more of a dressy gladiator look. I also couldn’t resist the matching nude bag. I wore these to dinner many nights with my navy Rag and Bone “simone” pants.
If all the hiking, shopping, and walking around town has your feet hurting, you have to go to A1 Oriental Foot Spa. Conveniently located across the street from the place we rented (by the Aspen Art Museum), I went almost every other day! I do love reflexology, and this authentic little foot spa is no joke. If you can handle pain and like a lot of pressure, then this place is right up your alley.
Speaking of our location, our bedroom was directly above a Pure Barre studio which was a blessing and a curse at the same time. We had a daily alarm clock when the music started, but I loved that it motivated me to workout on vacation! I definitely recommend trying a Pure Barre class if you haven’t done so already, because it’s a great all over body workout. It works the smaller muscle groups but is a lot harder than I expected it would be!
So as they say, all good things must come to an end, and as quickly as our three weeks went by, I think it was the perfect amount of time. We had so much fun and can’t wait to bring London and the pups back next year.
Hope you all are having a great summer, and if you have any Aspen recommendations that I am missing, please leave a comment below!
