Talking about one of my favorite beauty routines today. Dermaplaning is an exfoliating procedure that removes surface debris with the use of a blade, immediately delivering a brighter appearance. Another benefit is that it removes all fine hairs (aka peach fuzz) so that your makeup goes on smoother.
My aesthetician Cristi Phillips has been so nice to come to my house for my facials (during nap time) and does an amazingly thorough job! She makes your face feel like butter. However, if you’d rather do dermaplane to yourself, there’s now an at home device that is safe and easy to operate. It’s a handheld blade with a safety grip along the edge so you can’t catch a wrong angle. I have to admit, I was nervous to try it, but after a little coaxing from the sales lady behind the Chantecaille counter at Neimans, I figured I’d give it a shot.
Dermaflash has now become my favorite exfoliating treatment, in addition to my Power Glow Peel Pads from Bluemercury. These individually packaged pads work WONDERS! I started using them when I was having some hormonal skin issues, and within a week I started getting remarks about my clear complexion. They contain salicylic and glycolic acids with vitamin K, bilberry, and chamomile to clarify and resurface the skin.. I recommend using them three to four nights per week before bed, by cutting the presoaked towelette in half and using the other half the next night (or give to your spouse) on a cleansed face. Follow with a lightweight moisturizer that doesn’t contain any acids such as Renee Rouleau Sheer Moisture.
On the off nights that you don’t use the pads, I highly recommend Revive Moisturizing Renewal Cream which contains glycolic acid to keep the skin clear and boost collagen production.
All of these products would make amazing Christmas gifts under $200 for a mom, sister, or wife..
