You may recall reading about Susie Straubmueller planning an event to raise funds for breast cancer research in my post Stella and Susie Go Pink back in October… Well, that event is finally here and taking place TONIGHT at the Goss-Michael Foundation.. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased at www.strippedforcancer.com or at the door.
Stripped: Deconstructed Reconstructed will take place from 7-9pm and feature an art exhibition, silent auction, and cocktail party benefiting American Cancer Society and Cattle Baron’s Ball.
The exhibit will feature specially commissioned pieces, including a provocative art installation by director Tom De Nolf as well as photography by well known photographers Mindy Byrd, Molly Dickson, Shayna Fontana, Maxine Helfman, Dylan Hollingsworth, Jeremy Lock, Chris Plavidal, Nick Prendergast, Steven Visneau, Garrett Williams, and Jonathan Zizzo. Co-chair Jonika Nix says, “these compelling works of art ultimately unearth true beauty under fire throughout these women’s courageous fight against the disease—beauty that’s often found in the most unexpected places,”. I personally cannot wait to see what raw pieces these photographers have in store for us.
Tonight’s sponsors include Negative Underwear, Black Book Ink, El Bolero, Le Bilboquet, Roof Tile & Slate Company, Deep Eddy Vodka, and Studio 204.
I hope you will join us for what will surely be a captivating evening!
